Trixie

$180.00

This adorable town frock is called Trixie. Trixie marks the transition from the tubular silhouettes of the 1920s to the more naturalistic ones of the 1930s. While the side seam still has little shaping, the waistline marked with the red cotton broadcloth belt bound in black and secured with two black covered buttons has migrated north from the lower placement during the 20s. However, it has not made it yet to the natural waist. The red and black found in the belt frames the neckline and is found again on the cuffs of the sleeves. The skirt has a basque waist and side godets marked with double rows of red top-stitching. This type of design line in the skirt is further explored in the 1930s.
