The Grant Trousers were modeled off of an illustration found in a catalogue for Scotch Woolen Mills Tailors. This catalogue of men's silhouettes was intended to be used when ordering made to order garments for the Spring and Summer season of 1944. What is most interesting about this catalogue is that men's vest silhouettes are offered as well as cuffs on trousers. Both these items were eliminated for consumption in the General Limitation Order which outlined rationed items during the war. These half peg-topped pants have a tuck at the front in order to shape the top of the high waist of the trousers. They have cut away pockets in the front and double welt pockets in the back. The 1 1/2" waistband has belt loops. The bottom of the trousers are also "pegged" which means that the come to a quick taper at the cuff.
